Jurgen and Marie Schutz are pleased to introduce to you DOMINARI. The Cabernet Sauvignon and the Merlot wines are an expression of their tastes and efforts for 11 years. Both as growers and winemakers their motto is "Quality Not Quantity". The 9th leaf vines used in Dominari are located high in the mountains on Atlas Peak in Napa, California. Gaudeamus Vineyards produces less than two tons per acre. The Schutzes believe overcropped vineyards don't allow the ultimate nexus to be obtained from the fruit. The fruit is hand picked and sorted before crush.

The wine can be described as dark ruby red in color, romantic aromas of fruit followed by a sumptuous mouth giving way to a luscious finish. Long hang times, rocky mountain soil, coupled with with Clone 6 vines and low production makes Dominari one of Napa's premium wines.

The vineyards are nestled in a protected valley approximately at 1700 feet elevation. The label is representative of the vibrant skies in the mornings. The rising sun silhouettes the clouds in the vineyards with the rolling mountain ranges in the background. A beautiful site to wake up to most of the year. Standing on one mountain looking on to the other ranges is a dominating feeling, which is why the wine is named Dominari. Although in Italian the name can mean a protected historical farmhouse, in Latin it means superior. Try our wines and find out for yourself if it deserves the name. Welcome!
